Folding arm awning not extending, motor not responding, fabric damaged or wind sensor causing issues? We diagnose and repair residential and commercial awnings across Sydney.
Folding arm awnings are more complex than they look. The arms are under spring tension, the fabric has to track evenly, motor limits need to match the arm geometry, and wind sensors need to trigger at the right point.
When one part of that system is off, the whole awning can behave badly — not extending, not retracting, dropping unevenly, straining the motor or triggering wind sensor retraction when it shouldn't.
We diagnose the full awning system — arms, brackets, motor, controls, sensor and fabric — before recommending any repair or replacement. That means fewer unnecessary parts and a more accurate fix.
Experienced across major systems including Somfy, Linak, Elero, CW Products, Alpha, Becker, Simu, Nice, JBA, Merlin and others.
Send through a description and a photo and we'll help narrow down the likely fault before attending.
Motor not responding, arm mechanism seized or receiver fault. We check controls first — not just the motor.
Stuck in the extended position. Common causes include motor fault, limit issue, jammed arm or wind sensor in a locked state.
Motor humming, not responding or running without movement. We check the capacitor, drive and power supply before recommending motor replacement.
Dead remote, lost pairing or faulty receiver. The receiver is a common failure point — cheaper to check than replacing the motor.
Sensor triggering incorrectly, retracting the awning when it shouldn't, or sensor stuck in a locked state. We check the full control system.
Tears, fading, fraying or seam failure. We assess whether repair or full fabric replacement is the better option for your awning.
Worn arm joints, dry pivot points or bent arm profiles causing noise during extension or retraction. Often caught early, cheaper to fix.
Wall or ceiling brackets that have shifted, cracked or failed. A bracket failure can cause uneven drop, fabric tracking issues or put strain on the arms.
We work on awnings installed by other companies, including older systems where the original installer is no longer available.
Residential folding arm awnings — motorised and manual — are among the most common awning types we repair. They're exposed to the elements year-round, run a lot of cycles and have motors, arms, springs, brackets, receivers and sensors that can all fail independently.
We repair the full awning system — not just the obvious part. If the arm is noisy, we check the brackets. If the motor is humming, we check the capacitor and receiver before recommending a motor replacement.
We also replace motors and can advise on whether a manual awning is worth converting to motorised — depending on the awning's age, condition and power access.
Send through a description of the fault, your suburb and a photo of the awning or motor. We'll contact you to confirm the next step.

Commercial awnings — cafés, restaurants, retail frontages and office buildings — run harder than residential awnings and often fail at the worst time. We repair commercial folding arm awnings and motorised commercial outdoor awnings across Sydney.
If a failed awning is exposing a business to weather or stopping a trading space from working, call us directly on 0477 059 687.
Some older awning systems can be diagnosed and partially repaired, but parts availability is a genuine constraint on older or discontinued systems. If a motor, receiver or arm component is no longer made or available, some repairs may not be possible.
We'll tell you honestly whether a repair is viable after inspecting the awning — and if it's not, we'll explain what a replacement looks like and what options exist. We won't recommend unnecessary work.
Call or request a callback. Tell us what the awning is doing, your suburb and the brand if you know it. A photo of the awning, motor or control helps us understand the fault before we attend.
We check the arms, brackets, motor, controls, wind sensor and fabric together. Awning faults can be mechanical or control-related — sometimes both. We check before we quote.
If the repair is viable, we carry it out. If the awning is beyond economical repair or parts aren't available, we'll explain that clearly before you spend anything.
